You don’t have to be Rockefeller to commission animation. We can also make the Earth move for more modest budgets! Why don’t you give a gif a go?


The use of GIFs has evolved and is now an integral part of our visual digital landscape. With the shift of magazines to their digital alter egos and the rise of advertising campaigns on social media, illustrated GIFs are now punching well above their modest weight. A simple loop animation can be an engaging communication tool, adding storytelling to your online article or bring to life to your Instagram channel, conveying a specific message in seconds.

With the big comeback of GIFs (yes, they were huge in the ’90s), some artists decided to add another string to their bow and learn how to animate simple loops.

Often spotted as Easter eggs while reading digital articles, GIFS are fast becoming a key part of this new digital landscape, which make them an exciting opportunity for artists willing to learn — and it isn’t as daunting as you might think…
