Paul Wearing x Nigel Slater

CIA artist Paul Wearing isn’t just one of our favourite illustrators, but also a favourite dining companion. There’s little Paul doesn’t know about the restaurant scene and it’s no surprise that when a regular slot creating illustrations for food writer Nigel Slater came up, Paul was only too happy to get involved.

Many of us like a bit of homely horticulture. From windowsill to walled garden and any space in-between, growing, whether for joy or consumption, is a therapy for many. Even more so since the pandemic shifted our priorities and, in many cases, locations.

Food writer and cook, Nigel Slater, has taken his talent for composing a paragraph or a dish into the composition and curation of his own beautiful garden. And whether he’s growing something that could feature on a plate, nurturing a fertile environment for butterflies and bees, or simply setting the scene for some fragrant al fresco dining, he’s documenting his progress with a column in Garden’s Illustrated, commissioned by Our Media.

Paul Wearing is an astonishing illustrator. Well known the world over for his capacity to untangle the most complex business concepts and translate them into highly elegant visual interpretations, subtle and striking at once, its rather lovely to see him going back to nature with this gorgeous series of floral studies.
