Matt Taylor - Princess Mononoke Poster for SDCC

Matt created this stunning Princess Mononoke poster for SDCC 25, but as he explains below, it almost didn’t happen!

"This is the second in what I hope will become an annual collaboration with Spoke Art on Miyazaki pieces (I already have plans for Ponyo next summer). I almost abandoned this poster because I couldn’t get the layout to work after weeks of trying and had to send a very apologetic email to my Art Director explaining that I wasn’t going to be able to deliver in time for SDCC… followed by another email less than 24 hours later saying ‘hang on a sec, I think I’ve worked it out!’. Turns out the key to success is throwing everything in the bin and having a sulk for a day - and I couldn’t be happier with the results."
