Alice Pattullo x Teatra

Once again, Korean tea brand Teatra have come to CIA to infuse their packaging with some visual loveliness. In Alice’s own words:

"I always enjoy working on packaging as there is something about a handheld format that really appeals to me and taking a 2d image and applying it to a 3d object is always exciting. It is especially lovely when the packaging is commissioned and designed intentionally as something to be enjoyed and kept to be re-used after the product it holds is finished.

The set of teas had a musical theme and I had to incorporate an animal, a musical reference and the ingredients of each tea onto each tin; they were quite disparate in their selection they gave me, but I do enjoy the challenge of finding a way to bring these distinct elements together to make a harmonious and joyful finished illustration. I gave each one a limited colour palette based on the ingredients included in the teas but they also share some colours of that palette across the range so they work both individually and as a set.

I love drawing funny characters and often get commissioned to draw food and plants, but not so regularly the two together so this felt particularly fun to be able to combine these two sides of my work into one product.”
